Giant at work in the field: John Deere 8500i forage harvester

Delivering incredible power at 585 hp, the John Deere 8500i forage harvester is considered a magnificent achievement in agricultural field work. The self-propelled vehicle is a completely new item for the traditional precision model maker WIKING. The miniature, constructed entirely by hand, does not contain a single component from the previously produced model – everything is a new development.

The forage harvester in the green of the brand makes its première with the “Kemper” corn header and a pick-up unit at the front. The transport frame for the corn header is naturally included with the model. The imposing appearance of the model’s profile are emphasised by the wheels that are based on the original size of the 900/60 R42//710/60 R30. Numerous details on the agricultural machine spark much fun in the detail, with a fire-extinguisher by the access point on the left-hand side, and not far from that the black tank supports and mounted handle. Of course, the precision model maker has added the AdBlue filler neck in the form of a cover, also located by the left-hand access point. Below this is the water tank and a quick coupling, with the yellow silage additives tank located on the right-hand side.

A bracket helps store the outlet pipe at the rear. All the features that considerably simplify work during the harvest also appear on the miniaturisation. In the engine compartment, the gaze is immediately drawn to the silver tank container and an air tank on the right-hand side. And of course, the miniaturised cab once again reflects the functional and comfortable interior of the original cab. All four windows have a lifelike windscreen wiper to ensure a constant, perfect, all-round view. The interior with all steering and control elements is a perfect reproduction. The various plastic lights around the cab are inserted during the complex hand assembly process. There are an additional two flashing lights on the front mirrors. Naturally, all of the headlamps and tail lights on the vehicle are replicated on the model.
