Mighty exhaust underscores this Fendt’s awesome look
The experience this updated version of the Fendt 1050 Vario offers leaves nothing to be desired – the Marktoberdorf tractor rolls up as a genuine powerhouse. WIKING’s designers have managed to blend all exterior and interior elements into one harmonious whole - by keeping the accents of the model exceptionally close to the original design. The final product is a mesmerising farming model that enriches the scenery of the international precision scale and succeeds in communicating the awe-inspiring dimensions of the original in its miniaturised version. With the Fendt Vario 1050, WIKING enters into the race the top performer from Marktoberdorf: a 1:32 model of the large tractor in all of its ground-breaking glory. In the performance class between 380 and 500 hp, the series with the top 1050 Vario tractor has meanwhile become a major driving force for the global tractor market. WIKING miniaturises the evolutionary Fendt design and is able to impress with the compact design of the chassis and the new “x5 S” cab. WIKING’s interpretation of the Fendt 1050 Vario replicates the visible technical advances of the original. One example is the significant general overhaul of the Fendt 1050 Vario, which became necessary after the distinctive look was altered by the exhaust on the passenger side with its perforated sheet cover and by the markedly more dynamic brand image. The facelift has made the tractor from Marktoberdorf even more towering, while the intricate ornamental trim forms an attractive design counterpoint. The cockpit has been given ergonomic adjustments and an upgrade in the form of the Fendt One system. The latter testifies to the digitisation of the tractor driver’s workstation. The traditional model makers are thus once again taking on a Fendt tractor, the original of which, with a maximum height of 3.60 metres and a tare weight of 14 tonnes, is significantly lighter than the traditional designs in the 500 hp performance class, making it more flexible and thus more versatile. Their design experience has given WIKING the model-making abilities to create a fascinating miniature of the “x5 S” cab that offers a further enhanced view thanks to an even greater amount of glass and windows on the sides and the front, which have once again been lowered from the previous generation.
In keeping with WIKING’s philosophy, the unique functional features of the Fendt have been captured with great authenticity. One example are the tyres, which can be taken off and changed thanks to the magnetic hub and using the included tool. Additional elements have been attached as fully moving parts. They include the fold-down ladder halfway up the vehicle that makes it easier for the driver to climb into the cab. To allow for a more effortless look into the cockpit, the glazing of the cab can be folded up on the rear. The same holds true for the cab door on the left-hand side. The passenger seat immediately behind the door is designed as a moving part and folds up. These properties are accompanied by a host of technical features that make it even easier to explore this 1:32 model. Aside from the attachment mount that can be lifted on the front, these features also include a bonnet that opens. This reveals a view of the replicated engine. The spring-mounted suspension of the axles allows for simulating how the machine effortlessly overcomes obstacles.
